Colliers appointed as receiver, managing agent and asset manager to advice on leasing strategy and improving cost control.

The centre had a high proportion of lease events and a number of tenants seeking to regear or relocate. In addition there is some redundant space which burdened the service charge.

The strategy continues to develop as the centre evolves in the changing retail landscape. Since being appointed in 2019 there have been a number of successful lettings and regears, and agreement reached to sell non essential accommodation.

In November 2019, the agreement between Knowsley Council and St Modwen was completed. This secured the delivery of the new 90,000 sq ft development with the Council funding the costs and taking ownership of the completed scheme and the existing town centre assets. ​

 

The Colliers team was led throughout by their Head of Retail Development, Greg Styles, and they are now retained to lease the remainder of the new development for the Council, which will open in mid-2020.
