Colliers advised Sainsbury's on the sale of the site to WLDL and were then retained to advise on the new development.
This site is situated in a great location and required a careful development solution to ensure it can be let and delivered.
Colliers have effectively combined their development, letting and investment advice to ensure that a viable development scheme is brought forward, let and can be funded.
With planning consent secured, lettings have been agreed with Lidl and Starbucks and funding discussions are now in progress.
In November 2019, the agreement between Knowsley Council and St Modwen was completed. This secured the delivery of the new 90,000 sq ft development with the Council funding the costs and taking ownership of the completed scheme and the existing town centre assets.
The Colliers team was led throughout by their Head of Retail Development, Greg Styles, and they are now retained to lease the remainder of the new development for the Council, which will open in mid-2020.
